On my website I do not spend as much time advertising myself as a family photographer, choosing to focus my advertising efforts on maternity, newborns, and babies, but I do love family portraiture as well. In fact, a large majority of my clientele are families looking for annual or semi-annual family portraits. Most families choose to get their portraits done September through December, however I have several families that would rather either avoid the rush, or need updated portraits because their family has changed (new baby!). So they decide to do their family portraits in the spring or summer instead. Below are a few of the family sessions I have done in the first half of of 2019.
The Dujmic family had to reschedule their mini session from December to February due to a burst ear drum & poor weather. This family is so adorable, with their three energetic & rambunctious boys. Click these links to see their past sessions with me, here, and here. Brandy chose to have their session at Agua Caliente Park. It’s a beautiful oasis in the desert, with palm trees, grass & year around water. Typically, this is a hot spot for photographers & clients, and I prefer to avoid it during the busy fall seasons. But winter & spring it is fair game!
I have really wanted to do a nursing session in the wildflowers, and I am so glad that Rachael volunteered! Aren’t these amazing!?
While her sister & Dad were visiting from cross country for her babies’ birthday parties, she thought it would be a great idea to set up a cousin session to capture photographs of all the kids with Grandpa. I love sessions like this, because they are truly priceless. We used Catalina State Park for this session, and it was so green still from the spring rains. With tall grasses and mountain views, this location is just gorgeous.
This little family was so sweet! We headed out to Tanque Verde Guest Ranch on a cloudy blustery day. Originally we were supposed to head to the top of Mt. Lemmon, but I am so glad that we changed locations, because it would have been sooo cold up there! Plus, TV Guest Ranch is beautiful. It has desert, water, green grass, and beautiful southwestern buildings, for many different looks! Their little girl is eleven months old, just a few weeks from her first birthday, and she could not have been cuter. She didn’t want to give me very many smiles, but when she did give them, they were just perfect!
It was so great working with this family. They are also new to the Threshold Photography family, and after several reschedules & conflicts, we were finally able to meet downtown for a fun Tucson barrio session! Little Miss wasn’t to thrilled with the idea of doing photos as a group, but once she warmed up a bit, she was all about the individual photos!! I couldn’t get her out of the spotlight!!
I just love working with this family! Brandi has been a family session & Mommy & Me client for the past several years, but this time she got her in-laws involved as well for an extended family session! We had to schedule a last minute Saturday morning session, to work with everyone’s schedules. And, if you know me, you know that I am not a morning person! But we all got up & trucked half way up Mt. Lemmon to try and avoid the harsh Arizona mid-morning sun. We started at 8:30am, and I am so glad that we did, because the sunlight quickly became overpowering, and the shade more and more scarce as the hour ticked by. Plus, one child threw up in the car ride up the mountain, the other family had just gotten back from Disneyland the night before, and my own kids had a matinee dance recital that afternoon…but despite all of that, everyone did great & we got some great family memories to treasure for years to come!
